What a good IPTV service for France should give you

Whether you live in France or you're an expat who wants French TV at home, you're probably after the same things: the channels you actually watch, a sharp picture on a big screen and a setup that takes minutes. Open Tivi carries 190+ French channels inside the same subscription as our 35,000+ international channels and 95,000+ movies and series on demand.

The French section is organised the way people in France watch TV: the main national channels first, then 24/7 news, movies, documentaries, entertainment, kids, music and sports, each in its own category. You also get 45+ Belgian and 74+ Swiss channels, plus a 75-channel French-language Canadian section covered on our IPTV Canada page.

Everything streams in HD, with 4K on supported channels, from load-balanced servers with extra capacity at peak times. Check exact channel counts per country on our channel page, or start the free trial and browse the French categories yourself.

Which devices work best in France?

Many French households watch TV through the box supplied by their internet provider. Those boxes don't let you install IPTV apps, so it's better to use another device plugged into the TV. A Fire TV Stick is the easiest option: it's inexpensive, plugs into any HDMI port, and our Fire TV Stick guide walks you through setup in five minutes.

If your TV is fairly recent, you may not need extra hardware at all: an app installed directly on the TV is enough. Follow our guides for Samsung Smart TV and LG Smart TV. Android TV boxes, Apple TV, phones, tablets and computers work too.

Fiber, DSL and picture quality

For smooth HD, aim for at least 10 Mbps per screen, and 25 Mbps for 4K. Fiber, now widespread in France, clears that easily, and a good DSL line is fine for HD on one screen. If the whole family watches at once, pick a plan with more connections.

For the most stable picture, connect the TV or Fire TV Stick to your router with Ethernet, or use 5 GHz Wi-Fi rather than 2.4 GHz. If anything goes wrong, our support team answers 24/7 by email and WhatsApp.
